Since our media launch in June 2024, we have made a significant impact, reached over 4.3 million people and engaging with more than 90,000 interactions. Our content has resonated deeply with individuals across the MENA region as well as Arabic-speaking communities in Europe.

Dr. F. from Iraq who was raped by her colleague; she had previously talked to one psychotherapist in Iraq, but the psychotherapist blamed her and told her she was the reason she was raped! This left Dr. F. devastated; she suffered in silence for years and gave up the thought she could heal until she decided to reach out to us. One of our trauma therapists is helping her. Dr F. has recently shared:

N. from Syria has been trapped in a cycle of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse for years, with her drug-addicted husband now in prison. Through therapy, she has finally acknowledged the abuse, saying, “For the first time, I don’t live in denial anymore.” With support from her therapist, N. has found a job and continues therapy, determined to change her life and move forward, while still worrying about the safety of her young daughter.

Raha Nafsiya, meaning "Psychological Comfort and Rest" in Arabic, is a transformative initiative by the MENA Trauma Healing Resource Center. We envision a MENA region where every traumatized individual find solace and healing through Christ's love, thriving mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Need

Millions of women and girls in the MENA region suffer from various forms of gender-based violence and trauma, including intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, and discriminatory practices. Studies reveal high rates of anxiety, PTSD, and depression among women in this region, with significant barriers to accessing mental health support.

Our Approach

Through Raha Nafsiya, we aim to empower women’s psychological well-being by producing engaging media, including podcasts and video series, that address women’s traumas and psycho-social challenges. We also offer free, one-on-one, trauma-focused therapy sessions online through our Contact Center.
